Indications

  • Intolerance to oral iron therapy
  • Clinical need for a rapid iron supply
  • Iron deficiency anaemia in chronic kidney disease (CKD)

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance

Adverse Effects

  • Diarrhoea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Hypotension

Dosage

  • Adults: 5-10mL of Ferris (100-200mg iron)
  • 1-3 times a week

Additional Information/ Precautions

  • Anaemia not caused by iron deficiency
  • Evidence of iron overload
  • Signs of hypotension
  • In first trimester of pregnancy
